Memorial Places

How can you use the guide?

The guide is organized according to two points of view. First of all towns and communities are listed alphabetically. Moreover we have arranged paths for the city of Hanover, which are thematically organized according to different groups of victims. For every place you can find a local traffic connection and directions. The maps help you to find the places.

You can learn more about the places and their history via the contact persons, who can be found under the respective places under ‛Contact’. If you are interested in historical analysis beyond exploring places of remembrance, you can make use of our register of literature. There we have listed the literature we used for this guide.

In the appendix you can find the list of the Network of Memory and Future in the region of Hanover with addresses and references to the key activities of the current 37 members. Depending on the focus you are interested in, you can contact the single groups and initiatives.

You are warmly welcome to participate in the activities.

The places, the thematical headlines and the paths are marked with coloured █
